Region: Burgundy
Grapes: Pinot Noir
First Glance: Light, Spicy, Blackberry, Fine
The Wine:
Pinot Noir vines in four different plots averaging 30 years of age. Pommard, Savigny-les-Beaune and Ladoix Serrigny all contribute, including the special Ladoix vineyard of “La Chapelle Notre Dame” at the foot of the Corton hill, which makes up the largest percentage of the blend. Fruit is hand picked and 100% destemmed, traditional vinification in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. Vatting for 15 days. Matured for 10 to 12 months partially in oak barrels as well as stainless steel tanks. Wonderful bouquet of crushed blackberries and raspberries. The palate is medium-bodied with light, spicy opening, a good density and a solid blackberry, strawberry finish. A lovely Pinot Noir to drink now!
